Nomad Research exists for one reason: to help people achieve personal and financial freedom.
We believe crypto is more than an asset class - it's a vehicle for building the life you actually want. A life where you control your schedule, your income, and your future. Where you're not waiting for permission from gatekeepers or grinding away at a desk for someone else's dream.
This community is for people who want more. More knowledge, more opportunity, more ownership over their lives. We're here to learn together, grow together, and help each other get there.
The Founder
I'm Spencer - the founder of Nomad Research.
I'm a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where I earned a bachelor's in finance and a master's in business analytics. I also played five years on the baseball team. After graduating, I spent almost four years in traditional corporate finance roles - financial analyst in the restaurant industry, then real estate finance at a family office. I even studied for and passed the CFA Level 1 because I thought maybe equity research or a hedge fund was my path into markets.
On paper, everything looked right. In reality, I was miserable.
I was sick of rolling out of bed every morning to sit at a corporate desk from 9-5, doing work that didn't excite me, being "on call" at all hours for someone else's priorities. I had this itch in the back of my head that there was more to life - that I needed to find what actually made me feel alive and pursue it.
Markets had always been that thing. I find the whole game fascinating - the research, the analysis, the conviction. After finishing my CFA studies, I started expanding into crypto and everything clicked. The technology, the ethos of decentralization, the idea that traditional finance gatekeepers might finally be losing their grip. This was the frontier I wanted to be on.
But I didn't want to do it alone.
As a former athlete, I've spent my whole life on teams. The camaraderie, the shared mission, pushing each other to get better every day - I've missed that more than anything since my playing days ended. When I first thought about building something in crypto, my instinct was a solo newsletter, but I quickly realized that would be a lonely path. What I actually wanted was a team again.
That's what Nomad is. A community of like-minded people working toward the same goal - financial and personal freedom. A place where we learn together, hold each other accountable, and build something meaningful. My hope is that one day, members tell me this community changed their lives. Nothing would make me happier.
